From the wonderful wacky world of Hagstrom, the Swedish guitar making family was obviously going in a different direction from Fender and Gibson in the 1960's with a plastic front face and  a red vinyl back covering. The Hagstrom 1 has a buttery single coil sound.  Kinda like a Tele without the twang. The ultra thin Hagstrom necks are well known for their speed. I re-fretted it with jumbo frets for more "bendability". Obviously, The Hagstrom 1's "futuristic" look never caught on.
