One of several Kay models that Blues great Jimmy Reed was known to have played. This is one of the best of the cheapo guitars. I didn't like the old sunburst finish on it so I re-finished everything with maple stains and gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. I added a nickle plated metal bridge for adjustable intonation. The guitar has great vintage tone and is quite playable after a jumbo fret job that I did myself. The only problem is that it only has 18 frets which limits upper range playing beyond the key of G. The Kay is great as a slide guitar.
